The key tool we'll be using is a Chrome extension called MozBar. 

This extension helps us analyze the domain authority of both our website and our competitors'. Domain authority plays a crucial role in how Google ranks websites—the higher your domain authority, the easier it is to rank for keywords without needing extensive backlinking efforts.


Understanding Domain Authority

Domain authority is a metric that indicates how authoritative a website is in the eyes of search engines. 

Websites with higher domain authority require fewer backlinks to rank well. 

MozBar allows us to see this metric directly on Google's search results page, enabling us to identify opportunities where we can outrank competitors quickly.


Step-by-Step Guide to Using MozBar

1. Install MozBar: Start by installing the MozBar Chrome extension from the Chrome Web Store. It's free and easy to set up.


2. Analyze Competitor Authority: Use MozBar to check the domain authority of websites currently ranking for your target keyword. Look for sites with lower domain authority than yours—this indicates easier competition.



3. Evaluate Backlink Profiles: Next, assess the number of backlinks these competitors have. Ideally, target keywords where top-ranking sites have minimal backlinks. This reduces the effort needed to outrank them.



4. Keyword Selection: Choose keywords that meet the following criteria:

- At least three competing sites with lower domain authority than yours.

- Competitor sites with minimal to no backlinks.

- Competitor sites that do not prominently feature the keyword in their title, indicating less optimization.
